Meet the Authors

Rose Buado and Jennifer Redondo were born and raised in the United States (U.S.). Their parents left the Philippines to start a better life for themselves and their families. Like many Asian families, Filipino culture focuses on stability and many pursue “proven paths” like medicine, engineering, and the military. Growing up in America, they were taught to value the freedom of speech and thought. This is in direct contrast to the Asian culture where parental expectations create conflict because career goals and definitions of success are not aligned. Rose and Jennifer are just two examples of first-generation children learning what it means to be successful in the U.S. and how to navigate through it. They aim to bridge the gap of knowledge, experience, and support that many have felt coming of age, beginning careers and living life within purpose. 

Rose and Jennifer embarked on the In Her Purpose project to advocate for women, to feed and fuel the future generation, and to spread love! With their first co-authored book, In Her Purpose: 40 Principles of Asian Women Redefining Success on Their Own Terms, they hope to inspire readers to discover their purpose, amplify their voice and share their true gifts with the world.

Rose Buado is a dynamic success coach and personal branding strategist dedicated to helping high-performing entrepreneurs build meaningful, purpose-driven businesses. She holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from California State University, Long Beach, is an MBA candidate at Azusa Pacific University, and is a Certified Professional Life Coach. With a robust background in media, marketing, and events, she has served as Vice President of Media, Marketing Strategist, and Event Director for leading agencies across Los Angeles and Orange County.

As the Co-Founder and Co-Author of In Her Purpose and Manager of the popular Filipino-American a cappella group, The Filharmonic, Rose blends creative leadership with a heart for community. A proven entrepreneur, she has launched educational platforms and traditional retail ventures. Rose’s mission is to empower others to align their passion with action, guiding them to build brands and businesses that drive impact, inspire purpose, and create lasting freedom.

Jennifer Redondo is a versatile, detail-oriented, and results-driven professional with a proven track record for achieving C-level alignment, operational excellence and executing strategic initiatives. She holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. Her career spans across industries, starting out in management consulting to spending over a decade in the Silicon Valley tech industry. Jennifer's unique experience and passion for solving complex business problems have made her an expert at bridging the gap between strategy and execution, turning ideas into action and results. She is the former Board of Directors Chairwoman for the Mommy and Me Cancer Foundation. She currently mentors young women for FASTER and Kollective Hustle.
